We’re getting so much enjoyment out of these cushions, that I thought I’d see what I could do with the fabric remnants.
I was thinking a little something to cheer up our lovely seventies kitchen.
Do you like them? Do you think they will make cute pot holders?
I copied the design from some pot holders I received as a gift a few years ago. Unfortunately they are now looking very “well used”!
Don’t look too closely at the sewing ~ there is some definite crookedness.
I’m not sure where this sewing bug is coming from ~ maybe 2013 might be the year of crochet and sewing?
They are lovely. What have you used to fill them? (I use old denim or corduroy trousers and towels and things of that nature in mine, but yours appears to be much more high-tech.)
Oh, I never thought of that! I just bought wadding from Spotlight. I think it’s the type you would use if you were quilting a blanket, but I did buy the cheapest, so it’s probably very synthetic! I haven’t actually tested them on anything really really hot yet, so hopefully they will work!
WOW. They are so beautiful! I think I might even like them a little bit better than the cushions! ๐
They would be in my kitchen forever … unused because I’d be so afraid I’d burn them … wonderful work. Really wonderful.
Thanks so much Julia ๐ Actually, they will probably remain relatively unused in my kitchen too – mostly due to my lack of cooking prowess, ha!
Your hot pads turned out lovely!!!
I think your pot holders are gorgeous!
Very cute project. Good job!
They really are amazing, makes me want to go back to fabric!
Thanks crochetem! Yes, I don’t do much with fabric these days either, but it was fun for a change… not as much fun as crochet though ๐
Is there anything more fun than crochet?? ๐
Gorgeous! Puts my lasted sewing projects of dog bed covers and kennel curtains to shame!
