Well, I bet that got everybody’s attention, didn’t it? š
I was thinking my theme for this year would be “A Handmade Christmas“. Do you think it’s too early to start planning? Or, if I’m going to make some of my gifts and decorations, is it too late to start planning maybe?
In keeping with my Handmade Christmas idea, I have started making doilies. Or maybe it’s the other way around ~ a Handmade Christmas to justify my obsessive doily and bunting production :D.
These patterns (and many more still to come) are all from Issue 8 of Simply Crochet Magazine. I love this magazine. As the title suggests, the patterns really are quite simple.
I figure if I make one doily per week until Christmas, I should have enough.
….I think so,too!!!!

š I do love Christmas! xx
They are beautiful crochets. I don’t think it’s too early to start planning for Christmas, for crafting anyway. I always leave it too late!
Thankyou š I always leave it too late as well … I’m trying to do better this year… hopefully I don’t lose momentum, haha!
Best of luck!
Very nice. It’s never too early to start on a handmade Christmas.
Thankyou š Yes, I’m actually worried that I should have started much earlier!
Those doilies are quite beautiful. I also went for a handmade Christmas last year, everyone getting unique gifts from me. I can’t wait to see your posts detailing what it you’ll be giving away. š
Thankyou so much š Yes, I’ve not actually started on the gifts yet – I better get a move on!
These are so pretty, definitely no problem with getting a head start on Christmas crafting
Thankyou so much š
Never too early to start and hand made Christmas gifts are sooooo awesome!! I love your doilies!!
Thanks so much Lisa! I can see a little doily obsession coming on for sure š
They are beautiful doilies, love the colours! A handmade Christmas sounds like a great idea, I did a whole year of handmade gifts last year (not including Christmas) and it was very satisfying š
Thanks Bec! A whole year of handmade gifts is super-impressive indeed. š
It’s too early!!! Although I guess lovely handmade things take time and planning and thought so mayeb you’re right!
Haha! No, you’re probably right, it is a bit too early!
The gorgeous colours of your doilies, they give a modern twist to a traditional item. Love the photo on the wooden fence too, wonderful contrast.
