My mother-in-law made this Strawberries and Cream Tea Cozy for me for Christmas. Isn’t it gorgeous? Do you love receiving hand-made gifts as much as I do?
The pattern is by Patti di Cagli. It’s knitted using cotton yarn ~ aren’t the “bobbles” gorgeous? I would have no idea how to knit them.
Love Terri and Moo xxx
That’s pretty adorable. π
Thankyou! It is, isn’t it? My mother-in-law is very clever! π
I agree with hazelb! You’ll really be drinking your tea is style with I would love to make one. Any chance you can get a link to the pattern.
Thankyou! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find the pattern online, and I think it was published in a magazine a few years ago. I will try to get some additional information, but I haven’t had any luck so far. So sorry!
Wow!! This is stunning! What a wonderful Mother in law you have there!! Maybe someone that knits will know how those were made, the bobbles. Very beautiful. Sandy
Thankyou, yes, my Mother-in-law is wonderful! I’m quite fascinated by the bobbles. I know how to make them in crochet, but no idea for knitting I’m afraid.
Maybe YouTube would have some videos to help you? I find that if I want to see/know something, it is usually there. Hope that helps! Sandy
ooohh.. this is really a masterpiece.. definitely will keep the teapot cozy and very pretty indeed.. π
Thankyou! Yes, and the tea pot that I also got with it (pictured) is gorgeous too – it’s quite a fine one, which will be lovely to use.
So sweet, lucky you! π Handmade gifts really are a joy to receive and also to give – making a gift is always a good excuse to start another project… π
And btw, this is creepy: it seems like I’ve suddenly travelled forwards in time. It’s only 10:38 am here and I posted the last comment 7:35 pm. Whoa… π
Ha! I love that – I’ve never used making a gift as an excuse to start a new project, but I do think that’s a very good idea. π I’m in Australia, so that might explain the weird time that your post came up as?
Beautiful tea cosy. And I am envious of the tea pot also.
Yes, the tea pot goes perfectly with the tea cozy, doesn’t it? It’s lovely. I haven’t used it yet but it looks like it will pour very well.
How lovely and yes I do love handmade presents, it makes them much more special.
I’m glad you like it. Yes, I really only have hand made presents from my mother-in-law, and I cherish them all.
Your tea cozy is gorgeous! Hand made gifts are fantastic!! Made with lots of love!! Hugz Lisa and Bear
Thanks Lisa! Hugs to you and Bear too x
How sweet! I appreciate handmade gifts too, especially because I know how much work goes into them π
That’s exactly right, we appreciate how long they take since ~ it makes it extra special. π
How gorgeous! So glad to have found you. I don’t have a lot of time for crocheting but I try to fit it in as much and as often as I can as I find it soothing. I am now tagging along with you and will live my inner crochet life through you and your lovely work! π
