Well, it’s a new year, and time for a new something-or-other weekly, I think. And because I don’t seem to have a lot of success finishing projects that are crocheted in rows, granny squares are the obvious choice.
I will also admit, just quietly, that one of my New Years Resolutions is to decrease my yarn stash by *cough* 100 balls. Oops! I’m not sure I actually want to see that in print. I did start this resolution a little early, in September I think, so I’m most pleased to be able to say I’m already minus 27 balls. Yes, you’re right, I’m feeling all good and wholesome!

I’m a big fan of the granny square and those colours are beautiful. They bring it right up to date 🙂
Thanks very much Natalie. I’m glad you like it! 😀
I love this granny square! Gorgeous!! Great resolution! I should do that too! It’s hard for a yarn addiction! Tee hee!! Hugz Lisa and Boo
Thanks Lisa! Yes, I’m having a really hard time staying out of the yarn stores, but now that I’m keeping a tally of yarn, I really don’t want the total to go back up, haha! Terri and Moo x
That’s a lovely idea for a project! 🙂
I like this square.
Thankyou! I have lots of Cascade Ultra Pima in cream, so I’m going to try to use cream in most squares – hopefully that will be enough “matching” for when I join them all together.
Wow….you have been busy. Both buying and crocheting! Happy to take a few off your hands ;P
Ha! Yes, I’ve definitely been busy buying, but to be honest most of it was from a year or two ago – I was actually quite good in 2013!
This is so pretty! I am a new crocheter, and want to learn how to make these cute ( and updated) granny squares! Thanks for your inspiration!
Welcome to the wonderful world of crochet Susie! I’m glad my little square added to your inspiration – you will be “hooked” soon! 😀
As I can only really do granny squares obviously I love them, your colour scheme is so fresh, note to self… get my learn to crochet books out 🙂
Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I wasn’t sure about the colour scheme to start with, but I rather like it now.
I’m currently joining my blocks made from that book in our CAL last year. That is one of my favourite blocks.
Oh yay, I bet that’s going to look gorgeous! I love that book too ~ actually, I think it’s my absolute favourite. I’m always looking through it for inspiration.
Beautiful block! I love that book, a must for any crocheters library! Good luck with the stash busting, I find it quite liberating 🙂
Thankyou! Yes, it’s definitely my all time favourite crochet book for sure – a continual source of inspiration.
Beautiful – I really want to join in with you on this venture! Sher
