Well, the weekend is just about coming to a close, and I have very little crochet to show for it. I have this idea in my head for a granny square design… actually, I’ve drawn it so it’s now on paper. But, do you think I can work out how to turn it into crochet? No! I think I crocheted for six hours straight last night, and at exactly five minutes to midnight, I pulled it all apart and went to bed in disgust!
That’s not what we’re here for today though….
I’m so in love with the colours in my Spring Mandala by Made in K-Town, that I wanted to make something else with that colour combination. After a bit of fiddling around and note-taking and retrying, I came up with this coaster pattern.
I’ve only just discovered the crochet “top stitch” and I must say I’m a little obsessed. So easy, such instant gratification.
Then I made my own mandala to match.
Moo approves, I think.. or maybe that’s a paw-stomp of disapproval?
…and being a labrador, she had to check for edibility…
We hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend, and that your crafting pursuits are going a lot more smoothly than ours are.
Love Terri and Moo xxx
PS If you’d like the pattern, I can write it out and post it here.
Wow the colors and your the pattern are fantastic! I think it is definitely Moo approved and kissed by Moo!!! Awesome!! Boo hoo that the weekend is over!! Hugz Lisa and Bear
Haha! Yes, I think Moo did approve, and I’m glad you like it! Yes, too sad that the weekend is over ~ it’s always way too fast, sigh.
The colours are gorgeous, love the pattern too! x
Thanks so much Kel, I’m glad you like it! Speak soon. xxx
Can I please say yes to the pattern, if it is not too much trouble? I love these colours they are so life affirming, bright, not too bright and joyful.
Love Moo’s quality control role, it’s a bit like that here too, everything is pawcoded or scanned and stamped with some belly fur! Can I just note too that Moo’s head looks suspiciously shiny….could it be that it is very often rubbed, patted and stroked?
Thanks very much for your lovely comment! I’m going to write up the pattern this afternoon, so check back tomorrow and I should have posted it, if all goes to plan. Oh, I knew what you mean about pawcoded or belly furred – we took Moo to the beach last night, and when she’s wet she seems to be able to leave her furs in every corner of the house!
Those are gorgeous! I for one would love the pattern. Mollie sends Moo a Labrador wuzz! X
Thankyou! I will be writing up the pattern this afternoon so I should have it posted by tomorrow. Moo says thanks for the labrador wuzz, and she sends one right back to Mollie! x
YES for the pattern!! Thank you and good luck for the granny project! I will gladly have a look at your drawing to try to work things out if that is of help.
Oh thankyou Carina! I’ll take a pic of my picture and do a post on it I think – I’m part of the way there, but it’s a circle within a square, which always causes me trouble! I should have the coaster pattern done by tomorrow.
If such a critic as Moo has approved your work then I would definitely love the pattern 😀
Haha! Yes, I do believe Moo approved! I will write up the pattern this afternoon, so I should have it posted by tomorrow. x
Yes please to the pattern. The colours are lovely and the ‘top stitch’ is new to me so I hope it’s not too difficult to do.
Hi Ann! I should have the pattern written up this afternoon, and will post by tomorrow. The top stitch is *very* easy. I just googled it and I believe it’s called Tambour Crochet.
Really cute and love how Moo always helps!
Thankyou! Yes, Moo is a wonderful assistant ~ at least *she* thinks she is!
The coasters are lovely. I love Moo and how she helps! What a super dog.
Thankyou! Yes, Moo does love to “assist”. 😀
Simply beautiful!
Thankyou so much x
Wow! They are stunning! Good work.
Thanks so much Missy! 😀
Love the colour combo! I just learnt the top stitch thing for coasters too and love it. Would love the pattern to the mandala in particular as I just went nuts making coasters and wouldn’t know what to do with anymore! But I can see myself going nuts making mandalas 🙂
Thanks so much! Yes, I’m rather addicted to top stitch, now that I’ve found it. I think it may actually be called the Tambour Stitch. I didn’t actually make a pattern for this mandala, I just made it up as I went along… but I’ll have a look at it and see if I can work it out. Since I didn’t make it *that* long ago, hopefully my memory will help me! 😀
Love this set : the colours and the stitches used are great!!!
xxxxx Ale
Thanks so much Ale! xxx
This is the most beautiful afghan that I have seen. YES—YES, I would the pattern. I have crochet for years and this has been the best I have seen in years. Please the Pattern, and what will be the cost and how would I seen you the payment. Thanks again – – Phyllis Sanborn
Hi Phillis! Are you talking about the coaster set (that’s in this post)? If so, I have posted the pattern here -> https://aconversationwithmoo.com/2014/01/14/summer-rose-coasters-pattern/ I’m very glad you like it!
If you’re talking about the afghan, please let me know which one you’re looking at – I might have the pattern written out already.
Kind regards, Terri
